The Interview and the followup visits to a home for the elderly and a Library which was running a reading week will be featured this fall on TVO.
The Followup to the Library visit was to a Daycare next door and, for Eganville Jennifer Murphy, it brought home Why we do this.
"I've done a lot of great stuff since I've become Mayor", said Mayor Murphy "but this is by FAR the Best!"
I can understand why... It's addictive to make people feel good, and KatieBears is an Awesome way to do just that
New for 2012; KatieBears will be sponsoring education in the developing world. We've committed to assisting P.A.C.E. Canada, an organization with extensive contacts in Jamaica, with donations of money and KatieBears to a number of schools within the island nation.
Our level of sponsorship will depend on our fundraising this year, but we will be donating 50% of our funds to P.A.C.E. in 2012. We expect this will allow us to sponsor at least 3 'Basic' (Pre-school) schools for a full year.
We will also be travelling, at our own expense, to Jamaica to visit these schools and hand out KatieBears to the students
KatieBears has been invited to appear on GetInvolved! a TVO series on Volunteerism in Ontario
Following a telephone interview we've been notified that KatieBears will be appearing in the upcoming season
Again - THANK YOU to OUR volunteers for your unconditional devotion to KatieBears. It's because of your efforts that our efforts will be reaching millions of people!
Wow

The KatieBears Fun Day/Fundraising Event in Eganville got so big that it had to be relocated it to the Eganville Arena, but despite the last minute change of venue it was a resounding success. Approximately 300 people attended the event, and it was Fantastic!
The parking lot was packed for a few hours while Max and Aaron entertained the crowd. When Aaron took a much needed break from some of the best music we've heard in the valley, Mike from the Ottawa Valley RC Addicts entertained us with RC truck Stunts that reminded me of the Bayshore parking lot on Dec 23rd. Scary and amazing at the same time
Mark Murphy and crew from Camp Petawawa entertained anyone that wandered their way with some covert surveillance using their remote's. THAT was very cool - thank you all for coming out, and even more for what you do.
The day was packed with activity and we far surpassed our own expectations.
More Pictures of the Fun Day Event and our Head Shaver's
Our Top Fund Raiser at the event was Tracey McCormick from the Bonnechere Manor in Renfrew
